De internationale conferentie Imagining the Past: Ken Russell, Biography and the Art of Making History wil aantonen hoe Russells werk ons helpt om te begrijpen hoe cinema verhalen over onszelf en de geschiedenis (re)construeert. De conferentie biedt analyses van Russells benadering van biografie, zijn documentaires over kunstenaars, en de langspeelfilms waarin hij de levens van kunstenaars op een creatieve manier herinterpreteert.
