"When you walk out of this movie, you’ll say to yourself: Damn right, I’m somebody!” - James Brown
In 1974 one of the most exceptional live concerts ever took place in Kinshasa. During “The Rumble in the Jungle” - a legendary boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman - the greatest black American artistes performed for three days before an ecstatic crowd, thus becoming symbolic of a return to the mother continent. Black Power becomes Soul Power, which included performances by James Brown, Bill Withers, Sister Sledge, Miriam Makeba, The Spinners, Celia Cruz and B.B. King.
