ABC NIGHT: JEAN-PIERRE BOUYXOU & CO | Offscreen
To tie in with the ABC exhibition at MIMA, Nova is publishing Superpositions, a collection of the censored publicity photos that once decked the façades of specialist cinemas in the 70s and 80s. This atypical art book will serve as the starting point for Offscreen to organise a "micro-evening" centred on Jean-Pierre Bouyxou, nonconformist personality and author of one of the Superpositions texts. As an iconoclastic filmmaker and actor, acerbic journalist, scholar of exploitation cinema and creator of Noël Godin's Georges Le Gloupier, Bouyxou has been contributing to grassroots counterculture for 50 years.
On the programme: seditious short films by Bouyxou and other buccaneers of the Brussels scene, shown in their presence, followed by Bouyxou's first X-rated film, a 1970s curio never before shown on the big screen in Belgium!
