Ceci n'est pas... Belgium | Offscreen
One of this year's festival themes may be British cult cinema, but when it comes to excentricity and ingenuity, Belgium definitely holds its own. We present a fun-filled evening packed with recent and exceptional Belgian oddities. Belgium: land of surrealism, magic realism and waffles, filled with cinematic talent from the shores of the North Sea to the Baraque de Fraiture. In Shortscreen we present a superior selection of last year's most unusual and original short films from Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. We end the evening with Miracle of Life – an insane and outrageous trash film that will turn Cinema Nova into a genuine sideshow attraction. Step right this way, folks!
Shortscreen
For the annual Shortscreen programme, Offscreen and online magazine Kortfilm.be selected seven Belgian short films that fit the Offscreen criteria: original, unusual, bizarre and surprising. The films will be introduced by the filmmakers!
