TRANCERS | Offscreen
As you may know, the Offscreen Film Festival was hit by the Covid-19 bomb on March 13. Now that society and the film sector are slowly coming out of lockdown, we can resume some Offscreen activities, including the B to Z screenings at Cinematek. Because the number of spectators allowed to enter the cinema is limited, we'll be temporarily dropping the concept of a thematic double bill and screen one cult film twice in a row in order to reach a bigger audience. For this summer's B to Z, we'll be turning back the clock and show two time travel movies that were scheduled during the festival. For July, this will be Charles Band's unreleased 80s vehicle "Trancers".
TRANCERS
"Jack Deth is back… and he’s never even been here before." Square-jawed Tim Thomerson stars in this smashing B-movie as a future cop who pursues a time-tampering villain back to 80s Los Angeles, where he’s turning folk into zombielike "trancers". Future Oscar-winner Helen Hunt shows Deth the 80s ropes.
