Wanting to cash in on the success of "Emanuelle" (1974) – featuring Sylvia Kristel on a sexual adventure in Bangkok – producers of softcore films couldn’t get enough of exotic locations. Even in Germany, where the bavarian sex movie was starting to lose momentum, it was time to leave the Alps to go down to the sea level of sweltering beaches and tropical islands.
Hubert Frank was undoubtedly the king of ‘tits and pubic hair fumbling’. In 1978, he places his camera on the sun-drenched beaches of the Seychelles for a movie filled with babes & boobs, trying to hold the middle between a sexual fantasy, a family soap drama and a murder thriller.
German singer (!) Christian Anders, on the other hand, was behind one of the craziest exotic sexploitation films ever. As a screenwriter, director, producer and actor, he set up his love camp in Greece for a bizarre story about a hippie commune that adores a mysterious sex goddess. Non-stop gratuitious sex, sureal musical numbers (composed by Anders himself) develop into pureblood earwigs, while the Dutch-Indonesian beauty Laura Gemser can be seen from all different camera angles. This brilliant trash film is a masterpiece of bad taste.
