Blind Terror | Offscreen
Blind heroes chased by mysterious killers: nail-biting tension and masterful mise-en-scène in this double bill.
"Blind Terror" is a hidden gem of suspense cinema with Mia Farrow in one of her best acting performances as a blind woman chased by a mysterious maniac. Director Richard Fleischer hits the same high note as he did with his better known masterpiece "The Boston Strangler". This sadistic cat-and-mouse chase is a perfect example of excellent mise-en-scène, with the most nerve-wracking action just outside of the frame.
With "The Cat o'nine Tails" the young Dario Argento definitely proved his cinematic talent: giallo elements such as subjective first person camera work, close-ups of eyes, ever more violent murders... all with experimental editing by Fraticelli and set to an exciting soundtrack by Morricone.
See No Evil
A blind woman is chased by a mysterious killer of whom we see no more than his cowboy boots. A monument of pure cinema, full of remarkably efficient thrills and suspense.
The Cat o'nine Tails
A blind ex-journalist joins a young reporter on a search for an unknown murderer but they quickly turn into his prey. A giallo classic that definitely consolidated Dario Argento's reputation as the "Italian Hitchcock".
